Clicking a link in Thunderbird will show Firefox in the foreground or set the focus to the Firefox window. This can be annoying if you try to open multiple links from another program like Thunderbird.
Open the advanced firefox configuration about:config and change browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground to true
